Every little bit helps, I think. At least, that's what I'm telling myself here.
[She at least managed to put out fires without this odd weakness getting to her too badly. Every little bit indeed. For now, she'll put her swords away entirely. Nothing seems to be approaching them, and at least an ice barrier would buy time if necessary.]
I have a lot of people I need to ask about teaching me to use more weapons than just these swords, so I kind of understand.
[Sure it's not the same thing, but they both have errands they'll have to run after all of this is over.]
This has been... pretty eye opening for me, since I just got pulled into things near the end of May.
I'm kind of in the same boat there, too, to tell you the truth. I'm starting to think I need to learn how to use a gun, myself.
[He sighs, running a hand through his hair.]
If it makes you feel any better, it's been a lot of the same for me as far as things being eye-opening go, even if I've been involved for a year already.
[Using a gun... ah... that sure draws a sigh from Faye.]
I was thinking about that, too. I just need to figure out how to convince my brother to teach me.
[She could probably ask others... but she really, really wanted to learn from Leon more than anything. But that's something to worry about once they're all out of this.]
Has it been this same group -- the Black Order causing problems since you got here?
Honestly, I feel like you could probably argue that it's a matter of practicality at this rate.
[In response to the question, he shakes his head.]
The Black Order situation only started getting this bad this year. People here don't really take kindly to their preferred sort of control. [What they're doing now is testament to that.] The only thing really comparable that I've experienced was the city getting pulled into the Spirit Realm at the end of last year.
I probably could, and really I might try it that way first.
[She folds her arms a little, expression thoughtful.]
I wonder if anyone knows what changed that made them become more of a problem... [If the Spirit Realm was at the end of last year, and the Black Order became a problem this year...] .. is there anything you could tell me about the Spirit Realm and what happened? Even just a little summary is okay.
I can't really speak with a lot of authority on the Spirit Realm side of things, I just kind of... saw the results of what was an ongoing problem there. You might wanna ask one of the POKEGO people about specifics there. But the Black Order... Oh, what changed with the Black Order is people started getting discontent. People don't here like how they do things or treat their people, and the minute some of the Kaisou members here found out there were safe ways of getting out of the Order? They took 'em.
I think the Black Order got kind of pissed off with the team not following orders, which is why they sent someone who had been drinking the kool-aid to try to keep them in line. Problem with that is that she endeared herself to nobody, and ended up attacking a couple of the guys associated with POKEGO. And, uh, got offed for her troubles. Nobody said shit and I think the team here kind of half-assed their investigation as much as they thought they could get away with it. Except they didn't get away with it, and in May, they sent a couple more of the zealots with a way to try and get people here to talk.
These two played nice for a bit but they went and tossed a bunch of people into these... pockets of the Spirit Realm basically that'd manifest from a victim's insecurities, doubts, fears, everything they don't like about themselves or try to hide from others. And as you can probably guess, nobody fucking liked that. Especially since the first of those victims was a goddamn kid, who I think must've been one of the people who got out.
